A Teacher is A Role Model

A Teacher is a Role Model

A role model is a person who inspires and encourages us to strive for greatness, live to our fullest potential and see the best in ourselves. A role model is someone we admire and someone we aspire to be like. We learn through them, through their commitment to excellence and through their ability to make us realize our own personal growth. We look to them for advice and guidance. "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." -- Marlene Canter, My Teacher My Hero. In today's era, there are very few people who give their teachers their due respect. It is said teachers are our second parents. They are well experienced and life has taught them these lessons the hard way. Callousness has crept in so much among the students that they hardly devote time to studies. "We think of teacher-heroes that taught us the academics but we don't often think of those teachers that taught us life's lessons." -- Maria Wale,

Knowledge is like an ocean. Our teachers are the ones who take the pains to impart their knowledge. It is upto us how much we imbibe from this vast pool of knowledge..They teach us the basics of life which help us in becoming good humans. I remember my teacher used to tell me to greet everyone warmly to foster a stronger relation. These trivial things go a long way in developing lifelong relations. Teachers are the guiding light for us. Always ready to lend a helping hand, they are the most easily accessible .

In today's modern world, the respect and the gratitude has gone missing. No one pays much attention to their teachings and thus learn less. I think it would be really unfair to keep the students learning as criteria for teachers' stipend. Whether it is academics or the basic rules of life, our teachers are the ones who put their heart and soul into molding good human beings. School is as such a place of social learning as academic learning, and this is true, not only in our early years of education, but all the way through college. Though a teacher's influence on the social sphere of school lessens as students mature, those early lessons still have an effect on how they will interact with others in the future. Teachers are founts of experience. They have already been where their students are going, undergone what they will go through and are in a position to pass along lessons, not only regarding subject matter, but lessons on life.
